Gamble of the beasties, you say, a wild gamble. Gamble on your life, gamble your life, sir, miss? It's your turn: time waits for no one.
Aaand it finally uploads after two hours of constipation. :/ I'm sure there are a lot of entries better than this and in the month that the competition is open, better ones to supersede this. But I need money - desperate almost-university art student, much.
I wanted it to be a gambling table. It kind of is, but it's evolved into being a lot more than that. You can take it as face value, but I have several messages going on: a) Communication. Stare poker. The importance of language and the irony that the animals technically can't communicate. b) Life is a gamble. c) Ever read Animal Farm by George Orwell? There's some inspiration from him, these anthropomorphic animals and their human traits. Which gambling is, y'know. Animals don't gamble. Only humans take risks that involve morality, and that's what makes us human.
CAN YOU SPOT THE: 1. Three pineapple chairs. 2. The photoshop-made wooden gambling table. 8'D So proud of this. 3. The two clocks. 4. The three cats. 5. The one dog. 6. The coins. 7. The tomatoes. (Don't ask. Gambling barter?) 8. The dice. 9. The milk... thing. 10. The coffee cup. 11. The small blurred cherry in motion as it flies across the sky and is spotted by the half-hidden cat. I bet you didn't see this one, hehehehe.
